TechTool-Protogo-Apple-probe-Nano-noise-iPod-phone

Micromat has released TechTool Protogo, a Mac OS X application that lets a user “easily turn an old iPod, a flash drive or other similar device into a bootable diagnostic tool that contains several of Micromat’s utilities.”

The Wall Street Journal reports that Apple’s internal investigation into backdated stock options focused on two former executives—former CFO Fred Anderson and former general counsel and board secretary Nancy Heinen.

A number of second-generation iPod nano owners are complaining of high-pitched whining or buzzing sounds coming from the players. Owners of all models—2GB, 4GB and 8GB nanos—have reported the noise.

According to a recent survey by Solutions Research Group, an iPod phone could have the “potential to increase Apple’s customer footprint substantially. Currently just over 20% of Americans 12+ (about 50 million) own an Apple product—within 18 months of the introduction of a new iPod phone, Apple’s footprint can increase to over 30%.”

I love this iPod!
I was real excited to open presents on Christmas morning and find the one thing I wanted... an iPod! All in all I love it! But here are some things you need to keep in mind:
It's small and fragile- I love the size, cuz I can put it in my purse, no more crappy CD player! But I highly recommend getting a case as soon as you get it.
Earphones suck- This may just be me, but I can't stand those ear buds. With the soft covers they came with, at least it's tolerable. If you really can't stand them, I would recommend using your own earphones that you're used to.
Battery life is short- The battery life is only good for about a day. If you're like me, you'll use it up every day! I would recommend charging it every night.
Well there you go. It's a great product, you just gotta take care of it!

Don't Even Think About It!!
On Feburary 10 2007, I will have had my Ipod Nano for approximately one whole year. Not once have I ever dropped this thing (I bought the protective case the same day) and I have never experienced any real problems out of this product. My one and only complaint is the lack of battery life. Why after 10 and a half months am I only getting about 2 hours of battery life out of this thing?? I refuse to send it in for a battery replacement so that the same thing can occur once again next year. I think that I will just purchase the Zune which has so much more to offer than the Ipod and I will advise all others to do the same. Besides, Microsoft rules over Apple anyways!!

Great Item
I am enjoying my new black iPod Nano a great deal, and I wish I'd been able to get one before now. The sound quality is excellent, and the iPod itself is relatively easy to use.

I have a little difficulty reading the screen because my vision is poor. However, I am usually able to make out the menu items even without glasses, and the click wheel is very easy to use.

My husband and I had some difficulty with using iTunes. We didn't know that we needed to create separate playlists for the two of us, so all of my song choices were also copying onto his iPod when he would update it. We have pretty much decided to look for a Dummies book on iPod use so we can have a clearer idea of how to use iTunes and how to transfer songs from CD to the iPod.

Overall, however, this is an excellent product.
